Lehigh Carbon Community College is very honored and especiallypleased to provide program implementation/coordination, classroomtraining and business counseling for the State of Pennsylvania-funded,CareerLink Lehigh Valley-administered Self-Employment Assistance (SEA)Program.
Entrepreneurship is a successful part of job creation inPennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (L& I) Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Program is a uniqueopportunity for Unemployment Compensation (UC) claimants to enter intoself-employment and become business owners.
Self-help initiatives such as the SEA Program can provide you withthe opportunity to start and operate a business while collectingregular Unemployment Compensation (UC) benefits.
The SEA Program is a voluntary program for individuals who areeligible for unemployment compensation and interested in becomingself-employed. At Lehigh Carbon Community College, SEA Programparticipants receive 33 hours of classroom training, 15 hours ofcustomized business counseling, and various networking opportunities,while receiving a SEA allowance in lieu of regular UnemploymentCompensation benefits.
