Welcome!

Lehigh Carbon Community College is very honored and especially pleased to provide program implementation/coordination, classroom training and business counseling for the State of Pennsylvania-funded,CareerLink Lehigh Valley-administered Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Program.

Entrepreneurship is a successful part of job creation in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (L& I) Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) Program is a unique opportunity for Unemployment Compensation (UC) claimants to enter into self-employment and become business owners.

Self-help initiatives such as the SEA Program can provide you with the opportunity to start and operate a business while collecting regular Unemployment Compensation (UC) benefits.

The SEA Program is a voluntary program for individuals who are eligible for unemployment compensation and interested in becoming self-employed. At Lehigh Carbon Community College, SEA Program participants receive 33 hours of classroom training, 15 hours of customized business counseling, and various networking opportunities, while receiving a SEA allowance in lieu of regular Unemployment Compensation benefits.
