Pharmacy Technician
This course prepares you for the retail and hospital pharmacy setting. Instruction includes basic skills knowledge of pharmacy terms, prescription reading, medical terminology, drug delivery systems, intravenous therapy and aseptic technician preparation, chemotherapy awareness, dose, calculations, dosage forms, pharmacy law, and inventory control. EKG Technician
Learn to work as a technician in a doctor's office, hospital, or healthcare facility, and perform a routine electrocardiogram (EKG). Learn necessary aspects of anatomy and physiology, medical and legal aspects of healthcare, and patient care and safety. Operate EKG equipment and learn to identify frequently-seen abnormalities and deviations, arrhythmias, and clinical disorders affecting the cardiovascular system. Human and Social Services Aide Diploma
Gain introductory knowledge of the human and social services profession. Nurse Aide Diploma with English as a Second Language (ESL) Component
This program was developed to prepare the student to be eligible to be placed on the Pennsylvania State Nurse Aide registry and begin a career as a nurse aide. The initial component of this course is specially designed for clients whose first language is not English. Students enrolled in this program develop an understanding of such topics as the legal and ethical standards of nurse aides, medical terminology, residents' rights and promoting residents' independence, infection control, communication, and functions of human body systems. The student will gain supervised clinical experience at area long-term care facilities, along with supervised hands-on care. Students must attend an orientation session prior to registration. Nurse Aide Prep
This free 72-hour program prepares you to enroll in the Nurse Aide Diploma course. Study the human body and learn medical terminology. Focus is on learning processes, study skills, test taking, career awareness, and job readiness. Students must attend an orientation session prior to registration.
