Will I get a certificate or continuing education credits for non-credit classes?

A certificate can be requested upon successful completion of any non-credit class. This will be an LCCC Non Credit Certificate with your name and the title of the class. Ask your instructor to note your request on the attendance record. Certain classes carry Continuing Education Units which will be noted on your certificate. Other classes can be used towards professional education hours recognized by state and national organizations such as PA Department of Education Act 48 Credits. See class description to learn more about specific organizations.

What if I do not receive a receipt before the class starts?

Those who register close to the class start date will not receive their receipt before class time. Simply call 610-799-2121 to learn your classroom number. Go to class at the scheduled time. If you are not yet on the roster, simply advise the teacher that you registered a bit late.

When should I register for a non-credit class?

We encourage those interested in non credit classes to register at least two weeks before the class start date. Registration can be done up until the day a class starts. However, classes with low enrollments will be cancelled about one week before the start date and once cancelled, no more registrations are accepted. Also, many classes fill up. It is always to your advantage to register early. Please note that online and automated voice message registrations are delayed by 48 hours.

Should I take a non-credit class or a credit class?

This is dependent upon individual needs and interests. Some individuals like to take non-credit classes to explore certain interests before committing to a degree program. Still others have been out of school a long time and prefer a non-graded, shorter duration class to a traditional graded credit class. Still others enjoy the avocational and recreational programs only available in the non-credit division. All students with such questions are encouraged to contact our admissions office to determine a "best" direction in meeting their goals.
